A Small Bathroom Should Not Limit A Big Imagination. With The Right Combination Of Colors & Decor You Can Create The Illusion Of A Much Larger Space.

While decorating a small bathroom can be a challenge, it’s not an insurmountable one. If you’re in an older home you’re probably facing this dilemma. In order to help you out, let’s discuss a few strategic decorating ideas to help you expand your space.

  1. Use natural light and brighter colors.
    • This helps your bathroom, or any other space you decorate feel larger. So, be sure your curtains are translucent and windows free of clutter. Next, choose some brighter colors when it comes to paint and decor.
  2. Choose the right patterns
    • Believe it or not, the patterns you choose make a world of difference in how you perceive the space you are in. If you have tile, choose larger squares. The more grout & smaller the tile the smaller the space will appear to the eye. The same thing applies to hardwood. If you choose a design for the walls, choose vertical stripes. This gives the appearance of larger walls and higher ceilings.
  3. Choose smaller fixtures
    • The contrast between the size of your fixtures and the rest of the space is probably the largest contributor to the feel of the room. The smaller your fixtures are, the bigger your space appears. Make use of very compact vanities, toilets, and tubs/showers. Doing so will greatly help the appearance and feel of your small bathroom space.
